As I’ve mentioned several times, it’s impossible to exert absolute control over the photographic process. Don’t expect every negative to be perfect, and don’t be dismayed if some of your prints lack the magic you planned for them. Errors are possible at every stage, and occasionally they’ll combine with disastrous results. In general, though, if each process step is controlled within reasonable limits, you can assume that technical failures will be infrequent.
