Abstract
Biosensors have emerged as an innovative analytical tool in the field of medicines, biomedical diagnosis and treatments, analysis of foods as well as for the care of environments. These devices use biological recognition systems for detection of target analyte by generating measurable signals. This chapter describes the current trends of biosensors for paint and pigment analysis. The history, components, and working principle of biosensors are also highlighted. Additionally, pigment-based biosensors, biosensors for various natural and synthetic pigments used in food and paints are discussed.
