Social networking tools have become a popular way for people to keep in touch, find jobs, promote businesses, get a date, or just make new friends. Along with the various social networking venues come various communications tools and practices. These include, for example:

• Information sharing: By updating your status and profile and posting pictures and information about things that you're doing, friends and family know what is going on in your life. Such sharing keeps friends and family better informed without the need to send individual messages to each person.
