Adding dimensionality with a backlight

The final light we need to add to complete our 3-Point light rig is the backlight, or rim light. The goal of this light is to add a strong highlight along the edges of our three-dimensional object, forcing it to pop away from the background.

  1. Add another Sun lamp.
  2. Position it using the G-hotkey or the Transform Widget so that the lamp is behind the triangle and opposite the camera.
  3. Rotate it using the R-hotkey or the Rotation Widget so the light barely grazes the top of the tricycle (refer to the following image).
