Creating a red hot iron bar

Nothing changes color more violently than heated metal. It can change from a dull gray to glowing white hot in a matter of minutes. In between these two extremes, multiple colors of ruby, then red through to golden yellow can be seen traveling along a metal bar as it is heated in hot coals in the blacksmith's forge. When it is fully heated, ready to be formed into an ornate gate detail on the anvil, it will physically glow.

All these extremes of color make it a good subject for an animated material. This time we will only use color settings to change these appearances. No image files will be used.
