In the last chapter you increased your understanding of animation. You assembled the boat, parenting the different objects together and animating them. You learned about children, parents, and kinematics. You explored tracking and expanded that knowledge into doing some stereoscopic rendering.
With this good foundation, it's time to take a moment and start planning your big project. You need to understand the conventions that will help you keep track of what you do and where you put what you have done to make it easier for you to achieve what you want.
