Abstract
The focus of this chapter is to explore the potential applications of blockchain technology across different industry sectors. As a decentralized digital ledger, blockchain enables the recording of transactions through a network of computers. Blockchain technology was initially developed for the financial industry, but it has since been found to have potential applications beyond finance. This chapter will explore the evolution of blockchain technology, as well as its various uses and benefits in industries such as healthcare and the Internet of Things. It also discusses the impact it could have on the future of these industries. The research draws on case studies, industry reports, and academic literature to comprehensively analyze blockchain technology’s current state and future potential. It also shows the share of blockchain in different industries and explains how finance is the field that uses blockchain the most with 39% as compared to the other fields.
