In Chapter 4, you build a lab environment to support Ethereum blockchain development. With a fully functioning lab you can develop, test, and even deploy your own smart contracts. You can either build your own local blockchain or connect to one of several public blockchains. You need a stable blockchain platform to carry out any type of blockchain analytics. The analytics process is simple at its core: Fetch interesting data from a blockchain, build a model to analyze that data, and execute your model to look for information your data may reveal.
Although the process sounds simple, each step has its own obstacles. That’s why we’re taking things slowly.
