44. The joy of stretch
Any time, any place, anywhere. We all enjoy a good stretch, so let’s get at it.
Ever felt that discomfort in your neck and shoulders? You know, when the muscles feel tight because they are knotted, and although you don’t realise it at the time your shoulders are hunched up.
That’s tension you are suffering, because you are not relaxed. Feeling like this means you will not be performing to your best capacity, that you will be putting pressure on other parts of your body as these try and compensate for the fact that your neck and shoulder muscles are feeling under pressure. It also means that you are more likely to reach for the biscuits or the chocolate, even alcohol, and that in turn will put your blood pressure up.
