48. Water, ACE and blockers
You take your medicine, but honestly, do you have any idea how it works? It’s all very well the medicine going down, but what does it actually do inside you?
It probably came as quite a shock when you found out that you had high blood pressure. It wasn’t going to beat you though. You took the advice of your doctor and followed it to the letter.
Down went your salt and alcohol intake, up went the amount of exercise you did. Hey, you even lost some weight too.
You were looking forward to seeing your doctor again because you couldn’t wait to be told how well you had done. And then your doctor’s words hit you right between the eyes: ‘It’s still too high, I suggest you start taking some medication.’
