Now that you’ve painted a wall green or bought a Photoflex collapsible backdrop or built a $500,000 greenscreen studio, the next step is to light the color background and the foreground subject. While I’ve already touched briefly on lighting the background in the last chapter, now we need to delve into the details and make it happen.
First, a brief reminder of some of the basic principles of lighting. For those who would like a deeper discussion, pick up a copy of my book Lighting for Digital Video and Television, 2nd Edition (CMP Books, 2004).
