Solstice DiskSuite Software Requirements

No special formatting occurs when a disk is brought under Solstice DiskSuite software control. Instead, the partition structure of the disk remains unchanged, and applications and the OS simply address the disk differently. To access the disk using Solstice DiskSuite software, mount the disk as a device under the /dev/md directory. This interposes the Solstice DiskSuite software device drivers between the physical disk and the OS and allows Solstice DiskSuite software to manage the data flow to and from the device.
