XML Overview

XML is extensible; you can use it to give meaning to information, much more than just structure. After you create an XML document, you can repurpose the document to conform to any output you want—for example, one source of data with multiple views for presentation, as shown in Figure 20.1. Like SGML, XML markup is not tied to one application or even a single use. You can take the XML document and publish it one way to a paper and another to the Web and yet another to a CD.
