1. In 2007, women made up 46.4 percent of the labor force and 50.6 percent of managerial, professional, and related positions. Of all women over 16, 59.3 percent were in the labor force, compared to 73.2 percent of all men. In 2006, 53.8 percent of all mothers with children under 1 were in the labor force. The overall labor force participation rate of parents with children under 18 in 2006 was 70.9 percent for mothers and 94.1 percent for fathers.
