In this final chapter of Part III, I want to discuss some of the important issues associated with implementing job crafting in a work setting. Can job crafting coexist with job specification? And if so, how? While job specification is a top-down, management-driven job design strategy, job crafting is an employee-driven activity. Job specification is designed by managers and job crafting is initiated by jobholders. On the surface, job crafting and job specification seem incompatible.
