CHAPTER 9Close the Principle Gap
Having been convinced of your integrity, the folks in your draft are now close enough to catch glimpses of the deepest principles by which you live and operate and that inform your expectations. Their willingness to fully support the goals and directions they get from you will be based on what they see in you. They will watch how you lead, but they will also be close enough to see how you follow. They will study your fortitude as you move on the team’s goals and on those of the parent organization, and they will fill in the unknowns—the gaps in principles they are able to see.
