In the first chapter, we described supply chains, the core flows, and their fundamental purposes. We discussed their evolution from a back office and support function to an enabler of the business strategy, then to a critical part and main driver of business success (or failure). Alongside this was the development of the end-to-end supply chain construct driven by the clear need for business process and ecosystem integration.
