Use Network Features

If networks make you nervous, the new Windows Vista Network and Sharing Center (shown in Figure 17-5) will ease your fears a bit. It was designed for people like you who don’t typically think about networks but have more than one computer in the home or office. Networks let you share files and hardware easily—you can add a single printer, for example, to a network for multiple people to use. Most people use networks in office settings, but they are becoming more common at home as Dad uses the laptop in the kitchen, Mom finishes some work in the basement, and the kids play games in the living room. Multiple computers might be a necessity for these various activities and locations, but multiple printers don’t have to be!
