CHAPTER 19Creating a POV Effect in Mid-Air:Groovy Light Stick
HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO MAKE AN EXCITING LIGHT display using just five red LEDs? If you are tempted, read on and see how you can build a groovy light stick like the one shown in Figure 19-1. This project produces an interesting POV effect, which is described in Chapter 15, by using a single row of five quickly flashing LEDs to create moving light patterns in the air. The circuit uses a microcontroller to store the light pattern image data, and to switch the five LEDs in a fast moving sequence to generate the effect required.
