Engagement and effectiveness

In work, as in life, your effectiveness comes from the mental (and sometimes physical) resources you are willing to apply to whatever situation you are in. This willingness will depend on how engaged you are in what it is you are doing. If what you do doesn’t engage you then there is little chance that you will do what needs to be done to be effective and make a difference. So what do we mean by engagement?
