Since I wrote the first edition of Brilliant Presentation some things have changed and some haven’t.

What has changed?

What has changed is the dominant style of presentation from lecturing to something more conversational. From American rouse-the-troops, if you like, to European informal, the presenter today more closely resembles a stand-up entertainer than an under-rehearsed business executive.

What has also changed is the importance of the presentation in determining career success, from firstly getting a job to then being identified as a high flier. Today, presenting is one of the key business attributes. If you can’t ...
