Foreword

I was delighted when I asked Cyrus if he had a foreword written for his book and he said ‘not yet’ – I seized my chance and offered and he kindly accepted. This is not a preamble to a ‘lifetime achievement award’ at the BAFTAs, but I will start with when I first collaborated with him.

It was in the heady days of a new leadership framework and performance management system being introduced into a newly enlarged (through merger) government department. We both volunteered and were allocated the responsibility of delivering a range of modules, but these were training courses, so not purely facilitation.
