1.1 Introduction
The thought of professionally announcing— performing in front of a microphone or camera and being paid to do so—attracts many to a career in the radio, television, or cable industries. Broadcast performers provide information, entertainment, and companionship to hundreds, thousands, even millions of listeners and viewers on a daily basis. It’s an exciting and rewarding profession.
