Appendix: Self-Assessment Forms

These forms will help you assess which of the virtues for managing you possess and which you don’t. Each page addresses a single virtue, and is in two halves. The top half assesses the extent to which you are (a) a good manager or (b) a poor manager right now. The lower half is for repeating the exercise in, say, three months’ time to assess how much progress you have made.

The left-hand side of the page lists some of the actions typical of good managers. Against each action, you should mark whether you do them always, usually, sometimes or never. Then do the same on the right-hand side of the page for the list of actions associated with poor managers.
