First impressions last

You only get one chance to make a good first impression and, whether you like it or not, every aspect of your appearance says a great deal about you. Absurdly, small things have become typecasting. Men with a row of pens in their top outside jacket pocket are immediately categorised, not just as a little uncaring about their appearance but, as lightweight peasants. Women who wear far too much make-up are seen as either tarty or past their sell-by date.
