Adding Blogger to Your Site

Blogger — another Google Web service — is perhaps the most popular Web log provider and one of the easiest to use. To get started, follow these steps:

1.
Go to www.blogger.com and click the Create Your Blog Now button.
2.
Enter your e-mail address, password, and the Word Verification; select the I Accept the Terms of Service check box, and click the Contine button.
3.
On the resulting page, scroll down and click the Advanced Blog Setup link. You can, of course, simply fill in the information on this form, but all that does is create a blog on Blogger, not on your site. You can put in a link to it, but it’s just not the same.
4.
On the Advanced Blog Setup page, shown in Figure 11-1, enter a title for your blog under Blog Details.

5.
Select the appropriate radio button to either list your blog at Blogger or not.
6.
Under Server Details (see Figure 11-2), enter the required information (FTP server address, your username, and so on).

If you don’t know this information, ask your Web provider for it.
