As suggested above, the physical database design process should result in the following deliverables:
· A data repository (database) that represents an appropriate choice of architecture, that properly maps the data requirements expressed in the logical data model to the choice of architecture, and that contains appropriate constraints to ensure the integrity and security of the data.
· An instance of the DBMS to support the database, if the chosen architecture requires a DBMS.
· A server environment to support the data repository, of a sufficient size and capacity to ensure adequate performance, configured for the appropriate level of security, reliability, and availability.
