It is possible to form a linkage between the unstructured world and the structured world in many different ways. However the linkage is formed, it has a special property. The linkage between the structured world and the unstructured world is not a binary link at all, it is a probabilistic link, which is quite different from a binary relationship.

A probabilistic link is one that has a probability of being true. If the probability is 25%, then there is a low probability that the linkage has a valid business relationship behind the rule.
