Another form of text that is a foundation from which the unstructured data warehouse is built is embedded text. Occasionally, in the middle of a very structured file, there is what is commonly termed a “comments” field. It is in the comments field that an engineer, a customer, or a clerk, can insert free form comments. These comments, which are in text form, often contain very valuable information. Comment fields are a very legitimate source of information for the analyst who wishes to build the unstructured data warehouse.
