Format describes the importance of one format of text to another. The actual format of a document plays a part in determining its usefulness and understandability. A novel will most likely not have much relevance to a medical report, whether the report contains properly formed sentences or not. A doctor’s report contains very few sentences, whereas a report to the SEC contains finely crafted sentences.
