In most cases, modern organizations have the majority of their text in an electronic format. But occasionally text resides on paper. There are some serious disadvantages of having text stored on paper. One is that over time paper deteriorates. Another is that paper takes up a lot of space. A third is that when paper is used up, it must be discarded. A fourth is that paper is highly flammable. A fifth is that doing a manual search of paper is very, very labor intensive.
