Adding a Link to a SharePoint Navigation Control

SharePoint navigation is based on the asp:menu control navigation you modified in the previous section. The primary difference for the SharePoint navigation control is that the menu items are controlled by the topSiteMap data source. This means that you don’t have direct access to the menu items being displayed in the same way you did before; however, this design does not prevent you from modifying that data source via other means, nor does it prevent you from modifying the look and feel of the menu control itself.
