Accessing List Data from Other Sites

In addition to accessing data from SharePoint lists inside your current Web site, some applications must access data from other lists in other sites on the same server. The most common reason for doing so is to access data across an entire division that might be stored at the root of a site, but that you want to filter and display as part of your own team’s application.

In this exercise, you will create a link to the Data Source Library at the root of the site collection so that you can access the data found there.
