Content is the essence of a website. If you don’t have anything interesting to share with the world, what’s the point? On the other hand, if that content is uninviting, or even worse, inaccessible, nobody is going to engage with it.

In this chapter, we walk through preparing content for the web so that when it comes time to pop that content — text, images, video, and so on — into your web pages, that content will work on the web. Meaning, the content will open in browsers without creating hurdles that will send people away from your site.

We share a number of tricks of the trade here. Some of those tricks — or better said, techniques — are available through different online resources that help you convert content into web-ready formatting.
