When Doug revised his company’s photography website, he knew he wanted to include a blog with the site. As we mention in Book VIII, adding a blog to your site helps with search engine optimization (SEO) because posts are added to a blog site frequently.

Then shortly after he added the blog to the site, Doug and his business partner Roxanne decided that they were going to do a “365 project.” That 365 project would test their visual acumen as photographers by committing to photograph every day of the year and upload the best picture of the day to a website. A blog was the obvious answer for this project as well. In all, Doug added three blogs to the main website.

In this chapter, we show you the whys and wherefores behind Doug’s choices as well as share a few tips for modifying a blog to suit the website and blog material.
