This chapter focuses on marketing in LIS career development. It provides an overview of marketing principles (the four Ps and the four Cs) and applies these principles to personal brand building. The chapter also describes some self-analysis techniques that enable librarians and LIS professionals to reflect on their strengths and see themselves as a personal brand. Finally, the chapter identifies several Web 2.0 tools for brand development and provides a ‘how to’ action list for each tool.
