PREFACE
The evolution of business architecture as a discipline has been in progress for several years, and during this time many publications have offered business architects relevant and helpful guidance. In writing this book, we wanted to address a gap that we felt existed in the business architecture literature currently available. We believed that a book was needed that offered a pragmatic approach to developing a business architecture and explored how it was applied for business benefit. When considering beneficial business outcomes, we also felt that the service perspective offered an opportunity to enhance business architecture work and relate it to an outcome focus.
