Email formatting guidelines

A professional business email message includes the following elements:

  • Email addresses. When composing an email message, put the recipient’s email address on the “To” line. If you want to send the same message to several recipients, separate their email addresses with commas. If you want to send a courtesy copy (“cc”) to a secondary audience, add their email addresses on the “cc” line.
