Outlining your business processes
Business processes for the business intelligence and data warehousing solution do not need to be documented or outlined as exhaustively as would be used in other non BI or DW projects, or for the business. The business process outline for the solution needs to contain sufficient information to highlight major processes and process steps. This will represent the flow of information and the areas which are required to be measured.
Getting ready
In order to outline the business process, it would be ideal if you have some business documentation outlining the processes, or knowledgeable people who understand the business process you are dealing with.
