The field of business models has undergone an immense development in the last decade, and chances are that this is going to continue at ever more accelerating speeds in the years to come.

At the beginning of the 2000s, together with Alexander Osterwalder, we defined an ontology of business models; then we created the Business Model Canvas, which became the foundation for our co-authored bestseller Business Model Generation.
