In this third part, we consider some of the issues that today’s companies face when they seek to implement process changes. Figure P3.1 reproduces the overview of process work that we discussed in the introduction to Part I. In this part, we will focus on Level 3 concerns. Once a process redesign team decides to change a process, they typically call on specialists to help them implement the changes they require. In some cases, new employees, trained in new ways, will be required. In other cases, new office building in new locations will be required.
