Determining Alignment Opportunities and Constraints

The last step in the Architect and Align phase reconciles, documents, and garners commitment toward the program of change for the “Organization-in-Focus” over the planning horizon. This step shows the gaps between the existing situation and the required new business vision by identifying constraints that will hinder or prevent changes within the processes or cause supply problems with resources, tools, materials, or information. Determining alignment opportunities makes visible skills, capabilities, or capacities within the organization that might allow processes not currently being performed.
