Accessing Element Formatting Tools
In Chapter 1, “Introducing Charts in Excel 2007,”
you learned how to create a chart using the Insert
ribbon and then how to choose from built-in lay-
outs and styles on the Design ribbon. In real life,
you usually want to have some control over the var-
ious elements in a chart. Excel provides three addi-
tional levels of control:
■ The Layout ribbon contains a few popular
choices for formatting 15 chart elements. In
80% of cases, you can choose from the drop-
down menus on the Layout ribbon in order to
create the perfect chart.
