Hello World for Windows Store
To explore the WinRT APIs, we’ll use Visual Studio 2012 to create a new Windows Store application project. Figure 32.1 shows the New Project dialog’s entries for this type of application.
Because Windows Store apps are UI-centric, we have to choose one of the Extensible Application Markup Language (XAML)-based templates. To keep things simple, we’ll use the Blank App template. Feel free to experiment with other templates, though a discussion of the rich UI capabilities of the Windows XAML platform is beyond the scope of this book.
