You may already have your shiny new copy of C++ installed on your machine. It’s possible to get C++ by itself or as part of an IDE. Just how you work with C++ depends on your needs, but if you already have a copy and you’re happy with it, then you don’t need this chapter — just treat yourself to another cup of coffee and move on to the next chapter, secure in the knowledge that you’ve already completed a whole chapter of this book with very little effort whatsoever. Before you can do anything interesting at all with C++, you need a copy of it installed on your system.
