The outcome of an activity is the way that a thing turns out or the consequences of an action.

Our main focus in this chapter is on achieving the right outcomes in your job, and looking at ways of managing the performance of others to ensure the best outcomes. Ultimately, most jobs are assessed on their outcomes and outputs. That is, to what extent does the job holder deliver the key thing that is expected of the role?
