It’s no surprise that Canon has long referred to its extensive lens lineup as “The Eyes of EOS.” With more than a half-century of experience in making lenses to exacting standards, Canon’s lens lineup now includes more than 60 lenses ranging from an 8mm fisheye to the 800mm super-telephoto lens.
And without question, the higher the lens quality, the better the images you’ll get with the 5D Mark III. High-resolution lenses capture and retain excellent image detail even as you enlarge images for printing.
As you buy new lenses, remember that you are building a system of lenses that will last for years. Over time, your investment in lenses will be much greater than your investment in camera bodies.
