A New Enterprise Architecture

In this chapter we will discuss how to develop the new enterprise architecture (EA). The new EA will:

  • Build on the internal view of the organization, provided by existing EA frameworks, and add the external environmental view.
  • Provide links from objects in the organization’s environment to objects in the internal view. These links will provide the mechanisms for identifying and driving change in the internal EA, based on real changes in the environment.
  • Identify possible change vectors for external environment objects. This will provide us with a structured approach to predicting change.
