This chapter gives you some ideas about who should facilitate your card sort and provides lots of tips for getting the right people involved as participants.
Choosing a Facilitator
The facilitator is the person who is going to run the activity (if it is done face-to-face). Chances are this will be you. Here are a few of the qualities that make a good facilitator:
- Organized: Card sorting involves a lot of little details, so it’s important that the facilitator is on time, introduces the activity properly, and records the data.
- Able to multitask: Good facilitators can write notes, pay attention to what the group is doing, and anticipate questions all at the same time.
