The Cute Crew

THE CUTIES IN THESE CARTOONS often have infant proportions—big heads; small, pear-shaped bodies; and chubby arms and legs. The faces are wide-eyed with high foreheads, and somewhat shy in appearance, and the nose is always small. Cute characters often have swayed backs, protruding tummies and fannies, and almost no neck—if they have one at all! Tiny feet look cute on kids, and oversized paws make a kitten or puppy adorable. Look at the common characteristics in the cartoons on these pages, and notice how “round” they appear. Overall, they charm us with their innocence.
